Smart application of flexible constructions
One of the innovative projects that Albers Alligator has recently contributed to is the realization of a concrete pedestrian tunnel in the Municipality of Molenlanden.
For this project, we produced a specially custom-made plastic balloon that was used as a temporary mold. Reinforcement was applied to this balloon, after which the concrete was sprayed. After curing, the balloon was simply removed, leaving the finished tunnel construction intact.
This method offers significant advantages over traditional tunnel construction:
✅ Up to 50% less concrete consumption
✅ Up to 70% less steel usage
✅ Up to 60% less CO₂ emissions
Moreover, the plastic balloon is reusable, contributing to a more sustainable construction method and cost savings for future projects.
With this project, Albers Alligator demonstrates how smart applications of flexible constructions can contribute to innovative and environmentally friendly construction solutions.
