Albers Alligator is a family business with a long history. We started as a saddlery and have developed over more than 120 years into the specialist in plastic films and coated fabrics.

Albers Alligator is a family business with a long history. We started as a saddlery and have developed in almost 125 years into the specialist in plastic films and coated fabrics.
From 1901 till now
1901 – Establishment of Albers Saddlery
Jan Albers takes over saddlery Wentelt in Wageningen for 500 guilders, which at that time had already existed for more than 150 years.
1905 – Shop in Wageningen
Saddlery on Hoogstraat in Wageningen.
1925 – Tarpaulin production
Start of tarpaulin production, sales of leather goods and leather clothing.
1943 – Birth of trademark
Early 1943, the trademark and name Albers Alligator are registered with the Chamber of Commerce.
1947 – Gymnastics mat production
Start of gymnastics mat production and upholstering of gymnastics equipment.
1966 – Truck cover production
The growing transport world created a new market; the production of canvas covers.
1973 – First air dome
The first air dome is made in 1973 and installed on our own premises.
1996 – Launch of Multi-F system
Albers Alligator has been the developer of the unique and patented Multi-F System since 1998.
1996 – WinSystem patent
In 1996, Albers Alligator takes over the patent on the WinSystem from its inventor.
2001 – Royal warrant holder
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary, Albers Alligator receives the distinction in 2001.
2011 – Vancouver stadium roof
Production of the BC Place stadium roof in Vancouver where the center circle of the roof can be opened.
2012 – Biogas storage
Since 2012, Albers Alligator offers solutions for proper biogas storage.
2017 – Basin liner & slope protection
With 40 years of experience in storage systems, Albers Alligator specializes in basin liners & slope protection for water storage.
2019 – Wimbledon Court 1 roof
Albers Alligator produces the retractable roof of Wimbledon Court 1.
2021 – Multi-F Solar system
Albers Alligator introduces the first innovative floating solar energy system as a cover for water basins.
Royal warrant holder
The excellent quality of materials and welded seams forms the foundation of all our products. Every storage system and fabric construction places specific demands on the materials used in terms of tensile strength, UV resistance and chemical resistance, among others. Our experts select the most suitable materials and test them regularly in our own laboratory. Using the most modern design, cutting and welding techniques, we process the materials into high-quality storage systems and fabric constructions. We often work with certified fabrics and several of our storage systems carry a KIWA quality mark. Since 2003, Albers Alligator has proudly held the distinction of ‘royal warrant holder’.
